December 16 – Juletid – From St. Lucy (December 13) to St. Knut (January 13) is the time of Jul (Yule in Anglo-Saxon) when Winter Solstice is experienced.
It is dark, all the time. So what we must do is gather and create our own light! We will discuss the common effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder and how our ancestors combatted this depression with food, music, games, and rituals of light!
Kari will tell stories and share knowledge of the key seasonal events in our ancestor’s lives. Join Kari at Norway House where you will sit together, hear stories, ask questions, and learn about how these rituals and seasonal activities can enrich our lives.
Next Events 2018:
January 6 – Nordic Horn Ceremony
February 17 – Klippe Sauen; Shearing the Sheep
