Nordic Roots at Norway House – January
January 6, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am$20
January 6 is called 12th Night on the old church calendar, the 12th day of Christmas when Wassailing would take place. Waes du hael (To your health) in Old Anglo-Saxon is the root of the word Wassail! Community Horn Ceremony in Old Norse tradition happened when folk would gather at the Winter and Summer Solstices and were an essential component of sharing our best work, tightening community bonds, and honoring our ancestors. We will learn a few rituals and their accompanying songs that you can use with your own communities!
Join Kari at Norway House – 913 E. Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404 where you will sit together, hear stories, ask questions, and learn about how these rituals and seasonal activities can enrich our lives.
