October 14 – Winter Finding – Ancestor Days
This has been a year of fires, floods, and hurricanes. It makes us reflect deeply on what is most important in our lives – those whom we love. It is also a time of agitation in the human community as people search for identity and meaning when they have lost touch with their family of origin and ancestry.
During October, as the earth in the Northern Hemisphere is dying back, we can feel closer to those people we love who have gone before us. Our rituals as Nordic people during this time include mask making, ancestor altars, horn ceremony, and the Wild Hunt.
November 25 – Thanksgiving and Gifting
December 16 – Juletid – From St. Lucy to St. Knut
January 6 – Nordic Horn Ceremony
February 17 – Klippe Sauen; Shearing the Sheep
March 10 – Sap Rising in the World Tree
