Sap Rising in the World Tree
March 10 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am$20
In Old Norse Mythology the universe is held together by a giant tree. It is called by many names throughout the Icelandic Edda poems: mjötvið (tree of great measure) and yggdrasil (terrible steed) are the first two names that are mentioned in the Voluspa, the first poem in the Eddas.
Nine different worlds are held together by the tree and many creatures live in and between those worlds from the roots to the branches. Humans are related to trees as women were made from elm and men from ash!
In our class we will learn about the mighty world tree through story telling and folk songs. Fun learning for all ages!
