Nordic root performing artist and Staff Carrier Kari Tauring will perform a special concert in honor of: The Spring Invitational Exhibit 2017 Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Spirit Room in Fargo, ND. Kari first performed at the Spirit Room in 2009 with the Danish band Krauka and Mandan-Hidatsa storyteller and musician Keith Bear and several times since then. From May 4 to May 7, The Festival of Nations is one of the most amazing festivals in Minnesota. The Hosmer Library World Music Series presents innovative folk musician, Kari Tauring - Norwegian roots. Kari "taps out" her Nordic roots with stick rhytm, vocal looping, and vårfløyte (spring flute). Öorlog singing is memory singing, knowing the old poems and songs, the old names of things. Knowing our own names and hearing them called by our mothers when supper is ready, that song creates our vibration in the web of wyrd.
