Drew Miller has added bass, dulcimer, stav and electronics to Kari’s Nordic Roots music since 2008. They released their double album project, Ljos and Svart in 2016. Previous releases include the Völva Songs EP (2008), Live at the Capri (2009) and Nykken and Bear (2013).

→ with Lynette Reini-Grandell
Finnish American poet Lynette Reini-Grandell adds Runos to Kari’s Runes. Their first performance “Ancestor Memory Poems (2012)” launched many new performance explorations such as “Finnish Charms for Spring”  and “Waking the Bear.” Lynette joins Kari on her new recordings Ljos and Svart.

Carol is a bearer of traditional Telemark (Norway) dance and song. She is the artistic director of Det Norske Folkedanslaget (Kari is a member) and Fjell og Fjord Children’s performance dance group.

The two began collaborating on new song and dance performance, choreography, and curriculum with a FY2011 Legacy and Heritage funded project: Nordic Roots Dance.

Nordivas
Carol Sersland, Mary Klockeman,  Arna Rennan and Kari Tauring perform vocalized Scandinavian dance music. From Roros Pols to schottische – Telespringar to waltz, Nordivas inspire the body to move in a Nordic way. They perform regularly at the annual events Nordic Ball and Nisswastämman.
