"The Runes: A Human Journey" - Kari's first published work on the runes, based on 20 plus years of study and use of runes. It is reccomended but not necessary before taking her classes. Book

Ru is Sanskrit for secret or mystery. It is the root word of Runes and Runos, the Indo of Ind-European. Trace the Northern European traditions of scriptural alphabet and magical nature poetry through one of Kari's classes.

Classes Offered for Adults:

Runes: Two hour introduction - basic overview of the history, mythology, and historical/modern usese of Runes.
Three session intensive: Learn the Elder Futhark (the 24 letter alphabet dating to 100 CE) as the story of the Aesir and Vanir, the Ranging Nomad and Pastoralist, the Jouten and the Human. With Tauring's deep knowlege and insight, her classes are accessible to beginners and give advanced students fresh perspectives to ponder. She is well known for her entertaining, hands on learning and her classes are both fun and insightful.
Your Name in Runes: Explore the meaning of your name translated into runes through collage and poetry. One hour class, materials fee.

Classes for All Ages:

Basic Runes: Learn some of the stories the runes tell about cows and wild oxen, giants and gods. Translate your name into runes then create a collage and poem of your name. Play with the rune rhythm of your name with stav and tein. A lovely and intimate way to begin integrating the runes into your life.
Norse Myth and Pageantry: Goddesses and gods, giants and elves, dwarves and humans, learn the Norse myths through stories, songs, and craft projects to celebrate our heritage in pageantry! Topics vary widely.
